[META] Modafinil discussions should not be prohibited anymore. The hype around it has died down, and it is still one of the most effective and safest nootropics.

Spreading out subreddits is a net negative. Generally, I have NOT noticed that smaller communities like /r/afinil lead to better quality of posts, instead I've notice more difficulty in initiating discussion.
We should definitely let modafinil posts be on here again.

We've never disallowed all modafinil posts. We've always said if there were new and interesting discussions regarding modafinil, or its mechanisms, that we would allow them. People have messaged us when they thought their post would lead to good discussion, and we have approved some over the years. However, what you don't have to see is all the BS that tries to get posted that we filter out. If we were to remove the filters altogether, it would be a shitshow here.
The reality of the matter is that most of the posts regarding modafinil are low quality or spam. This is why you don't see an increase in quality on /r/afinil. People are just not posting quality stuff. The same goes for /r/Tianeptine and /r/phenibut. They were never an attempt to create quality smaller subs. They were an attempt to keep /r/Nootropics from being completely overrun with shitposts.
If anyone has anything interesting or new they wish to discuss about modafinil, by all means message us using modmail, and we can look at it on a case-by-case basis. Even this discussion is merely a hypothetical one. Nobody has mentioned anything specific they want to discuss about modafinil, just that they want to be able to. You've always been able to. You just need to message us to approve it.
