I came here after seeing a thread on the Phenibut sub about how some other companies have products that feel stronger than ND's.
I wonder how that's possible?

It's not. It's all a bunch of bullshit spewed by people misusing the product, often further spread by our competitors. It's horseshit, plain and simple. I don't get involved on /r/Phenibut because frankly I don't want those types of people as our customers. I am more than happy to let our competition take all the people tossing tens of grams of phenibut down their throats a day and commenting on what batch was more "euphoric" than others. When shit hits the fan, it will be those people that bring down the ship. I do not want them on our ship when it happens.
Regarding testing, we do literally more than anyone else in the industry. FULL STOP. Nobody else is testing things to the degree we are. At most people are sending to shitty non-ISO labs and getting a number that, in my mind, is next to meaningless. We have now proven that many of testing numbers these labs are giving are wrong. One of these labs even sent us HPLC results for a chemical that can't be tested via HPLC, then could not explain to us how that happened. They have never given us raw testing data, never done an OOS reports for testing failures, and never were able to answer specific chemistry questions to the level of detail that my lab director would need to prove they are properly testing things. So getting a COA from some of these labs is one step above meaningless in my mind at this point. That's even if people are sending samples there at all. I would love to call out these labs by name, but I am already dealing with enough legal shit as it is. Many people here will know exactly who I am referring to, though. Ever wonder why you don't see me posting COAs from certain labs anymore, and trying to get people thinking about these things? You know how mad I was when we built our own in-house lab and started trying to verify these labs results? I was LIVID! This shit is people's health! This shit matters! Then you have vendors claiming to have an in-house lab, and that they are properly testing, but are just lying through their teeth. I know what these people have, and the qualifications of the personnel running them. They have a single entry level FTIR that they compare batches on to PREVIOUS BATCHES, not even reference standards... THAT'S IT! No HPLC assays. No reference standards. No heavy metals testing. No residual solvent testing. No loss on drying. No NMR analysis. No finished lot testing. No microbiological testing. It's an absolute joke. Why not ask them the education and qualifications of the people running their product quality programs. I think you might be surprised at the answer... not that they would actually truthfully tell you. Our lab director has a masters in analytical chemistry, was a professor at Arizona State University, did method development at multiple other large supplement companies, and has been through three separate FDA audits. We have NINE people in our lab, all of them with bachelors or masters degrees in chemistry. We are bringing two more onboard as well, so soon we will have eleven people in our lab. ELEVEN. That's more than some of our competitors have in their whole company, and that's just our lab! We might as well be on a different planet than these other vendors from a lab perspective.
We verify the identity of our phenibut via FTIR and NMR, and have developed our own HPLC assay for purity. We do proper analytical chemistry with validated reference standards, not BS area percent garbage chemistry. We do ICP-MS for heavy metals on every batch. We do melting point, water activity, and loss on drying as well. We also send off for residual solvents if we think there is an issue, or see a peak we can't identify on NMR or IR. I just bought a new GC-FID that should be installed in a couple weeks which will allow us to bring that in-house. So we will do residual solvent testing on every batch once that is in. We are also the only people out there selling phenibut that assays every batch of the finished capsules. So we not only HPLC the phenibut raw material, but we HPLC the capsules once they are made to ensure they are in-spec. Nobody else out there does that, because nobody else out there even has their own HPLC in-house to do it. We have an HPLC and now two UPLCs. The newest UPLC has a mass spec detector on it as well. We are going to be migrating our HPLC methods over to UPLC as time goes on, because we get better sensitivity, and it results in 10 times less solvent waste along with the run times being much faster. Most of our natural extract assays are on UPLC already, because the higher pressures are better for complex mixtures like plant extracts. We test stuff to death, and we are constantly setting the bar a bit higher. We've also been testing phenibut for the better part of a decade, and have retained samples going all the way back to 2013. We know when manufacturers change synthesis pathways, or when a precursor gets harder to acquire. We know when residual solvents or heavy metals are becoming an issue. We know when labs get shut down or stop making certain things. It's our job to know these things, but people act like this is amateur hour here; phenibut customers especially so. It is all laced in a layer of unscientific BS, and has been for years.
Phenibut has always had a very strange tolerance/effect profile, and is subject to some of the most ridiculous claims of any other substance. "This batch is fire, but this one did NOTHING." Suuuure buddy... Ignore all the validated analytical data and just trust your feelings on it. Any time we try to get more detailed data from these people making claims, they are always just scooping to weigh or taking ridiculous doses of things and not keeping things consistent. SCOOPS ARE NOT ACCURATE FORMS OF MEASUREMENT! Ever consider the milling size differs between the batches, and a scoop of one powder might be giving you GRAMS more than the other? It's why we don't include scoops, and never will. I can scream this till I am blue in the face, but it will never resonate with the phenibut crowd. For capsules, ever consider that the other vendor might be putting more in the capsules than stated? They don't ever test it, so it could be way overdosed for all anyone knows. We test every single batch of both raw material and finished product. We know exactly how much is in there, and have proven it. Maybe you are getting 350mg per cap in the others. Maybe there is other shit in there. When you are marketing to a crowd that wants to abuse things for a euphoric high, accuracy, precision, and validation are not exactly your top priority. Having someone on a forum say your shit is "fire" is really your ideal result. That's NOT what we are here for. We are here for accurate and scientifically validated products. If you want phenibut HCL that has been verified and tested to death so much so that ME PERSONALLY would put it into my body, that is what we are here for.
In the past we have done whole investigations when customers made claims of things not working. The vast majority of them are phenibut and adrafinil. We have NEVER ONCE found issues with our product in our investigations. Not a single time have we been able to scientifically and empirically prove people's claims about reacting to one vs the other. We have even sent unbranded jars of different batches to customers labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4 to get their reactions. Once they are blinded, they can never tell the difference. I have even sent jars to a customer labeled as two different batches of our product, with jars from two of our competitors. They took them and swore up and down they reacted better to the others over ours. However, they didn't know that I switched all the powders out in the jars to the SAME BATCH of our phenibut. They were literally taking the same batch of powder, but swore up and down they reacted great to one and not to the other. I did this with adrafinil in the past as well. Once I revealed that they have been taking the same damn batch, just labeled as different ones, they were dumbfounded. People's anecdotes are not accurate. They are just not. Anyone buying shit because some random Redditor on a forum said it was better is fooling themselves.
I've tried to stay out of the public pissing matches with a few of these competitors spreading bullshit for a while, especially for phenibut. I hate what phenibut has become, just like I hate what tianeptine became. I absolutely hate it, and will lose zero sleep if everyone up and decided to go buy from our competitors. Go for it. If someone honestly thinks they are doing anywhere near the analytical testing we are doing, then they are not the type of customer I want ND to have. I'm trying to advance the standards in this industry for the customers that actually care about what that means, and understand what it takes to make happen. It's a joke to even think they are in the same league as us regarding analytical testing... an absolute joke. All they care about at the end of the day is making sales. Remember, I have tested many other vendor's products, and found TONS wrong with them. I just don't publicly call them out like I used to, because I started getting death threats, hacking attempts, thefts of crypto, and tons of other issues that were causing problems not just for me, but for my team and my family. Some of my team pleaded with me to take a step back from publicly calling vendors out by name. That's why you don't see long rants from me on /r/Nootropics calling out vendors anymore. It's not that everyone magically started doing things right! LOL. It's that I was getting attacked so much that my family and my employees asked me to stop. It's a shame, but I can only fight so many fights at a time.
