What Nootropics make you more productive?

Original post in this thread

TheReviewNinja · 57 points

I've been thinking about ways to become more productive with the limited time that I have. I've even written an article to research & brainstorm out the various methods that are immediately accessible to me. Since my knowledge & experience is limited, I wanted to ask you redditors what supplements or actions that you take to become more motivated & productive?

What they were answering

However, water/sleep/exercise directly impacts cognitive function, arguably more than any supplement.

Limiting discussion only to substances (that can be purchased from, say, Ceretropic.com) is problematic for a number of reasons. I'm an enthusiastic Ceretropic customer, but this is simply not the right approach to advancing the knowledge base and practice of cognitive improvement.

Being annoyed with a post is not a valid reason for removal, and sets an ugly precedent. This sub has been a great resource; I'd hate to think of it degenerating into an adspace for nootropics vendors.

I did not remove it because I was annoyed. I removed it because it was off topic. This is /r/Nootropics, not /r/Enhance. If we do not start limiting discussions to nootropics, people are going to leave. People already have left. I get PMs from people all the time saying they are annoyed with the state /r/Nootropics has gotten to, and people make public comments frequently regarding it. Those are just the people that voice their opinion. Countless others just stop coming here, because at the top of every post like this is the same damn message about diet, sleep, and exercise. Everyone gets it. The most ideal way to ensure you are operating at your peak efficiency is to make sure you are sleeping, working out, and eating a balanced diet. Saying that at every turn is not giving anyone new information.

People do not come here to be pandered to about changes they already know they need to make in their lives. They come here to discuss nootropic compounds, and research improving cognition. When someone makes a post about which nootropics help productivity, immediately posting a message about sleep is just rude. They did not ask what life changes they should make to improve productivity. They asked people's opinions on what nootropics would do that. If I went on /r/Meditation, and started recommending people nootropics on every post, don't you think the mods there would start to have an issue with me? It's just not the topic that subreddit was started for.

Please don't insinuate that I am here because I want to sell things, or that I make biased moderator decisions because I also run a nootropics company. It's insulting to all the effort I put into making the nootropics community as a whole better. Ceretropic does not even come up on here much anymore, and I push everyone to /r/Ceretropic or our support email. I don't post or comment about our products, unless someone specifically asks me, and I certainly do not push people in specific directions. I care about the nootropics community as a whole, and make decisions based on that. I have been extra busy lately. So I admit I have not been as involved as I would like the past 6 months or so. However, I care about the state and health of this forum, and it is clear that some changes need to be made. We created /r/StackAdvice, because people were getting annoyed with constant stack questions. We created /r/afinil, because people were annoyed by 5-6 daily Modafinil posts. We now send people to a number of different places for various things, like /r/depressionregimens, /r/tDCS, /r/Meditation, /r/phenibut, etc. Recently people are getting annoyed at Tianeptine posts. So it's probably time to start thinking about a policy to address that. These are not ugly precedents. These are decisions that have to occasionally be made to ensure the health of the subreddit.

[META] Modafinil discussions should not be prohibited anymore. The hype around it has died down, and it is still one of the most effective and safest nootropics.

No issues with quality. We do a lot of quality control, and go through Tianeptine very quickly. My team still treats every report seriously, and pulls samples to re-test, just in case. It's never an actual issue, though.

Replying to saladon · I came here after seeing a thread on the Phenibut sub about how some other companies have products that feel stronger than ND's. I wonder how that's possible?

It's not. It's all a bunch of bullshit spewed by people misusing the product, often further spread by our competitors. It's horseshit, plain and simple. I don't get involved on /r/Phenibut because frankly I don't want th
