Bacopa seems controversial here...

Original post in this thread

Having taken Bacopa for a while, I am interested to see that many people experience drowsiness and loss of motivation...although it is recommended in the FAQ how likely is it that it is impacting my motivation?

I have been taking the Swanson stuff as recommended in the FAQ: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017OAI8C/ref=s9_hps_bw_g121_i4

Thanks

bacognize makes me utterly exhausted and useless.

ur saying that may be due to reduced dopamine?

is there a way to raise dopamine without an increase in receptor density that then decreases effectiveness? maybe taking something 3 days a week when one wants to study alot or something?

Yeah, the exhausted feeling is because it is lowering dopamine and increasing GABA. You can take something to increase dopamine to counteract it. I would suggest Rhodiola and L-Tyrosine. You could also use Phenylpiracetam on the days you want to study.

Purity/Heavy Metals Testing Results

The results from our latest round of testing are in. We all had a pretty good idea that the Bacognize would fair well, as Nootropics Depot's tests showed. However, we now have 3rd party results confirming it. * Lead- .0

Powder City hooked me up

Replying to otistoole · > Remember that kratom is not a nootropic, and should be suggested with care. No need to remind me, I offered more than one caveat in my post, and wouldn't have even suggested it

My comment was more for everyone else reading. You have to remember that a lot of people come here who are just starting out, and might see kratom being mentioned on a nootropics subreddit, then automatically consider it

5 days of 3 x 1.6g piracetam use. Still no effect?

Replying to jrhsk8 · Anecdotal evidence seems to indicate it's less subtle than that, but I feel like I would notice it if it really did something. If it is really so unnoticeable, is it even worth it?

To be honest, if you are going into this with the thought that you are going to get rapid and noticeable changes, then you are going to be let down more times that you can count. Nootropics are about finding what works w

Bizarre side effect from "Super Rhodiola"

Replying to relbatnrut · It's such a weird substance. It's as stimulating as phenylpiracetam or caffeine or modafinil for me, but there's absolutely no crash, and no effect on sleep at the end of the day.

Do you mean withdrawal in general, or specifically for rhodiola?
