It seems to be almost inactive even at double and triple the amount, despite reading otherwise. What would be the free acid dose equivalent to 20mg of sodium?

To provide another anecdote, I've always felt an effect from 12.5mg of tianeptine sodium, and I've experimented with doses of tianeptine sulphate from 20mg-60mg, but I've never been able to actually "feel" it. It's possible that this is due to a slower onset/smoother pharmacodynamics and it's still working in the background, but I'll probably go back to sodium after I finish this batch.

Yep, that is common too. Some people just respond better to the sodium. It probably has to do with GI differences between people.
