Best you've ever felt from nootropics - what did you take?

You cannot honestly say there are almost no risks from using a strong dopaminergic drug like amphetamine regularly.
I agree with you that is sounds plausible, but has there ever been any scientific studies done on humans shown that it has?

The types of dopaminergic damage they are seeing is hard to measure in humans. We can't just cut open the brains of people in a study. So we have to look at behavioral changes, or at things like MRIs/CT scans. Then it is hard to control for poly drug use in the past, or other variables. They have done studies about amphetamine abuse, and the behavioral changes it can cause, though.
Then you also have to take into account who is funding the studies. Pharmaceutical companies would not want to fund studies that would show damage at therapeutic dosages, and other private studies are looking for the most significant measurable damage. So they concentrate on recreation abuse. We really need a well-funded study looking at the long term effects of dopaminergic brain systems, in therapeutic amphetamine users with ADHD.
