starting taking it 3x daily. This seems like a recipe for absolute disaster since it's a mu-opiod agonist. what's the consensus on this? plenty of people seem to use it chronically w/o problems.

I use tianeptine in doses around 45mg and I also use other opiates at low doses. I notice that low doses of opiates have some strong dopamine effects and can get me chatty and thinking a lot. Or if I mix hydrocodone with caffeine its nice. I actually enjoy tianeptine more than hydro. Hydro can feel depressing and boring at times. But I also never aim to nodd. I use them to make myself stop behaving depressed or to manage mundane job. Tianeptine I use to socialize and think. I just used for too many days in row and the effects got ruined tho.
I also notice the glutamatergic effects thru visual changes but not so much anymore. In high doses it made everything taste bland. I notice aniracetam makes everything taste complex and intense. Probably this is some ampa effect? Glutamate receptors usually play roles in sensation.
Also interesting is that LSD effects are seemed to be caused thru mglu modulation rather than directly the 5ht2a effects. I think ampa mglu and nmda all play different type of sensory roles but not sure what. Nmda seems more informational and ampa maybe like sensation like tastes or sharp pains or ticklishness. Mglu maybe involves like motion and adaption to senses. I think LSD effects are caused from hyperactivity of certain sensory things. Like motion adaption. I think the walls breathe because of same effect caused by watching the street while you drive t…

I think recently a lot of people keep focusing on the opioid affinities, and are ignoring all the other mechanisms that make Tianeptine unique. The beauty of Tianeptine is the fact that it can work so well at low therapeutic dosage, which make long-term use viable. Sure, you can get some stronger effects moving up the dosage scale. However, then you have to deal with the drawbacks of that. In your case, the effects stopped working after too many days in a row of 45mg. Single 45mg dosages are going to peak a lot higher on plasma levels than spreading that 45mg out over 3 dosages. Those peak plasma levels are going to dictate the tolerance/side effect profile.
