What hasn't worked for you

It feels like I've tried just about everything out there and find that very very few substances actually have any effect that I can definitively confirm to myself as being a direct action from whatever I ingest. I'd even be happier if I'd gotten some side effects at least there would be some sign of efficacy at least. What hasn't worked for you and what was the biggest letdown ?

Why dextrorphan? Wouldn't that be more for recreation?

So far DXM has been the most powerful way to reverse tolerance, since the metabolite DXO is a very powerful NMDA antagonist. However, DXM is serotonergic, which interacts with a lot of things. Going direct to DXO would give you the power of DXM, but without the interactions.
