Empathogens

While not nootropics per se, empathogens can help us get access to a kind of information that we can use for making better decisions, I believe.
Commonly, MDMA and several popular hallucinogenic compounds increase empathy in humans - but with potentially unwanted effects.
Are we aware of any substances with a reduced risk of hallucinating, legal risks, and less toxicity? The recent comments on NSI-189 and hyper-emotionality make me wonder about empathy.

Seems to be a pattern. I had to drop it completely. I have not felt the need to try another regimen of it.
