Many of you may remember the issue that came up with Cerebral Health/Bioscience Nutraceuticals a few months ago, where their choline bitartrate was numbing people's mouths. After sending those samples in to the lab, the tests came back negative for choline bitartrate. We suspected it was choline salacylate, but decided further testing to ascertain the exact compound would not be worth the cost. Unfortunately that was not the last issue to come from Cerebral Health.
A few weeks ago, another Redditor placed an order pyritinol from CH, along with some alpha GPC and oxiracetam. When the order arrived, both the alpha GPC and oxiracetam seemed alright. However, the pyritinol seemed off. Before thinking about it, he took his normal 400mg dose of pyritinol and went out for a mountain bike ride. Within 15-20 minutes he was getting a weird euphoria and detachment. After another couple minutes, his memory gets very fuzzy.
Eventually his sister found him in the garage in a manic/psychotic state. He was biting his lips very hard, shaking, and holding his fists tight. Eventually he went into seizures when the paramedics came. He was taken to the hospital and seized again while waiting for th…

Count another as someone who was trying Pyritinol for the first time and assumed it was likely just an individual bad reaction. I had ordered Sulbutiamine and Pyritinol from Cerebral Health months ago. After receiving my order I took a small (I don't have my notes handy but if I followed normal protocol it would have been 1/10th a "normal" dose; I likely will find notes of the specifics) dose of both Sulbutiamine and Pyritinol and spent the evening with friends while monitoring for symptoms. After about two hours of passive activity (watching television, light conversation) and no noticeable issues I stood up to leave and felt unpleasantly "off balance", with somewhat slowed reactions. I spent a couple more hours with my friends monitoring. After confirming the symptoms were certainly not worsening and possibly abating I left. I stayed up for several more hours until I could be certain the symptoms were clearing. The next morning I felt slightly "slower" than normal but it could have simply have been sleep deprivation.
Needless to say I destroyed the Sulbutiamine and Pyritinol I had already prepared in advance of adding it to my normal supplementation. I kept the remaining content (the majority what was shipped) of Pyritinol and Sulbutiamine bags from Cerebral Health with an interest to determine later exactly what happened. Needless to say (at least I would expect this would…

Nootropics Depot has agreed to FTIR the samples for us. I found spectra graphs for the most likely candidates for what I think it might be, naphyrone or buphedrone. If it doesn't match up to either of those, we can branch out from there to try and figure out what it is.
