Can we have a post for the beginners for understanding NMDA nootropic action?

I'm new. AMPA receptors make a lot more sense than NMDA receptors when it comes to enhanced cognition, but they both seem crucial.

With NMDA receptors. Antagonists, agonists, and modulators all seem to have a complex role that I don't understand when it comes to cognition enhancement.

For instance Ketamine and PCP are an antagonistic yet so is Memantine and huperzine-A . Some cause Olney's Lesions and others are for Alzheimers.

Is there a NMDA explanation that is more straightforward out there?

Can somebody lay out NMDA for those in the dark like me?

I was waiting for you to show up.

Kirby999 up at the top of the page on his first link showed NMDA function was mandatory for LTP.

What do you think this has to do with the CILTEP stack?

It seems like they're going about LTP a different way than what Kirby999 was learning, right?

And if you are looking for an accessible novel modulator of the NMDA receptor, nefiracetam is a good one. It binds to the glycine site of the NMDA receptor like GLYX-13 does. We'll have to wait a bit to get GLYX-13 for a reasonable price.

Replying to iakobos · The safety concerns for nefiracetam don't apply for humans. Even long-term studies have shown no toxicity in humans or primates. Nefiracetam is actually the drug I'm most interest

Please do not state that with certainty. The mechanisms behind Nefiracetam's testicular and renal toxicity most certainly do pertain to humans as well. Caution should always be taken with it. If you have some human and p
