What does eclonia cava do to DHT?

The phlorotannins in Ecklonia cava, particularly dieckol, inhibit DHT in the scalp by blocking 5-alpha reductase. It shows equivalent inhibition to finasteride, and shows dose-dependent inhibition. This means higher doses inhibit more. Ecklonia cava has shown 12.5% increase in hair follicle length, and a 14% greater effect on follicle growth than minoxidil. It has also been shown to transition hair follicles from telogen, or resting phase, to anagen (the growth phase of hair) within 37 days. DHT is only part of the story, too. It increases proliferation of dermal papilla cells, enhanced IGF-1 expression (3.2 fold increase), and increases VEGF expression (2 fold increase). It also has antioxidant and antiinflammatory effects, which help with hair growth.
The biggest issue with finasteride are the sexual side effects. This is the main reason I shy away from it. Ecklonia cava has been shown to be equally as effective at reducing DHT in the scalp as finasteride, but without any of the sexual side effects it can cause. Finasteride lowers DHT by 70%, where Ecklonia cava can by 66%. However, where finasteride also lowers total testosterone levels, Ecklonia cava actually increases total testosterone 25-48%. It also increases free testosterone 48%. These studies were in combination with Tribulus, so that plays a factor as well. This is why we have Tribugen, and a lot of our customers combine Ecklonia cava with our Tribugen for that purpose. Furthermore, Ecklonia cava enhances nitric oxide, increasing blood flow. Honestly, people really should try it before moving on to things like finasteride and minoxidil. The same goes for Berbelean instead of semaglutide and Eurycomax instead of TRT. I would bet than 90% of men prescribed these drugs would have better outcomes, with less side effects, and more sustainable on these supplements. As always, there are legitimate cases where the prescription is going to be needed. However, I mostly see doctors handing this shit out like candy to people that would be far better off fixing the root cause instead.
