Independent Lab Testing Results Of Supplements On The Market

Original post in this thread

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I have made a post in this sub. However, I saw a new research study today that I wanted to bring up. It highlights why my main mission over the past 10 years has been to not only advance the lab testing and quality control standards of the industry, but also to educate consumers on what to look out for, and how things work in the background. We are all ingesting these products! We are putting them into our bodies, so it's crucial that companies selling them do everything necessary to ensure they are what they claim to be, and are pure and free from contaminants. That is unfortunately the vast exception to the rule. Many of you may remember my post about turkesterone results from last year.

That whole situation blew way up, and every jabroni on YouTube was making videos about it. Some were saying I was a liar and fraud, and just trying to sell products. Some were saying I was in for massive lawsuits. Most were just doing it to get their 5 m…

I’ve seen a lot of amino acid supplements that say to store at room temperature or below. Some things might be more thermally stable than we realize and there also might be supplements that are ‘less’ thermally stable than we realize. Every molecule reacts to temperature independently of other molecules. Some probiotics, for example, are extremely temperature sensitive and should never be exposed to above room temperatures if you want them to remain stable.

So which supplements are more stable in high temperatures and which are not?

Probiotics are a totally different thing. Those are not heat stable, save for very specific strains. It's part of the reason we don't sell any probiotics yet, apart from the fact that the QA process is totally different. It's biology rather than chemistry, so I would want to ensure I understood all that before we tried to make our own product. Amino acids are thermally stable up to about 120\*C, or 248\*F. There's no issue with heat there. Most small molecule organic compounds are very thermally stable at temps you would find out in the normal world. One exception to that is R-ALA. That actually decomposes at room temperature, and melts at 114\*F. This is one reason nobody should sell R-ALA. We sell the both the sodium salt, Na-R-ALA, and a cyclodextrin of R-ALA. Both of those drastically improve the thermal stability of the molecule, so you don't run into issues under normal conditions. Regular R-ALA just shouldn't be sold as a supplement, to be honest. The other one that has issues would be fasoracetam. That melts at 134\*F. So yes, there are exceptions. However, most things are perfectly fine till you start getting over 200\*F.
