Hey everyone, it's been a while since I have made a post in this sub. However, I saw a new research study today that I wanted to bring up. It highlights why my main mission over the past 10 years has been to not only advance the lab testing and quality control standards of the industry, but also to educate consumers on what to look out for, and how things work in the background. We are all ingesting these products! We are putting them into our bodies, so it's crucial that companies selling them do everything necessary to ensure they are what they claim to be, and are pure and free from contaminants. That is unfortunately the vast exception to the rule. Many of you may remember my post about turkesterone results from last year.
That whole situation blew way up, and every jabroni on YouTube was making videos about it. Some were saying I was a liar and fraud, and just trying to sell products. Some were saying I was in for massive lawsuits. Most were just doing it to get their 5 m…
What they were answering

Makes complete sense. I am gonna dig around a bit and might dm you at some point lol or via the website. Sorry for this word vomit in advance..
What you said also reminds me of accounting.. my intended major (stopped after an associates). I didnt pursue it further for a few reasons but one of them was sorta influenced by a friend of mine who ended up leaving the industry. Like me, this friend wants to be accurate and obviously data analysis is kinda reliant on that lol. But... when the data says shit is fucked, what do you do? Fire the person who found it if they won't un fuck it? Cover it up_Change bookkeeping shit around/ Etc? Or .. depending on the circumstances obviously, hope you have a good pr team and change shit? What if you can't un fuck the problem - it would destroy everything because it's literally your entire product/service? This is like the entire baseline issue of corruption and shit like it but to fix it requires accuracy and transparency. No wonder you mentioned lawsuits lol.
I saw the iso btw and that's a thing I'm just starting to learn about in general. I'm super entertained that exists LOL

If you send an email to [email protected], that's answered by my lab director. He's on Reddit, too. His handle is /u/Omnient_Labs. He would be better to message, as I don't really check PMs these days.

Yep, it is a tough situation. This is why most people in this industry don't look under all the rocks, because once you find something under one of them, you either have to deal with it or willingly ignore it. Most choose to not even look in the first place. I've had a lot of situations that were made 100 times harder because I wasn't 100% confident in the data, then went looking to solve it. We've not sold products for years because I was not confident in the science yet. Hell, just look at Fadogia agrestis. You know how much money I could have made by bringing out a Fadogia product when Huberman went on Joe Rogan and talked about it? We're talking many millions of dollars. However, there were no validated reference standards, and no compendial testing methods for it, so we could not confirm it was even the correct plant. If the science can't be solved yet, you wait till it can. That didn't stop literally everyone and their mother coming out with untested Fadogia, though... There's money to be made! Who gives a shit if the product is real or not? Consumers won't know! This is why this industry is thought of as a scam by many people around the world. It's not that supplements as a whole are BS. It's that the majority of the companies in this industry are not doing even the bare minimum to ensure what they are selling is what they claim it to be. Doing things the right way is hard. It's costly and just not possible for some products. You don't make money by choosing to not sell products, though. It's tragedy of the commons, and most people in this industry are in it for one reason, and one reason only: to make money.
