CD38 is an enzyme that increases as we age, and as a result, is the primary cause of age-related decline of Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD) through direct consumption.
From what I can tell, the most easily (industry) accessible molecules seem to be:
Apigenin
Luteolinidin
Luteolin
Kuromanin
Quercetin

Never tried it, especially after some people reported constipation on it. I've also considered berberine for an eventual stack with NMN, but haven't tried it either.
But I must say that I had been supplementing with zinc (l-optizinc 30 mg) daily for the past year (for my immune system), so my levels were probably quite high already. I stacked immune support and quercetin on some days that I needed a boost for my immune system, and unfortunately it took me a while to notice the connection.
Now that I have suspended zinc and been supplementing copper, the pain has largely subsided.

We have been researching more, and there does seem to be a copper connection with both quercetin and EGCG. This could actually be why some people get hepatotoxicity from EGCG. It may only happen in people with copper deficiency.
