Product Request: CD38 Inhibitor Complex

Original post in this thread

UpsideDownElk · 10 points

CD38 is an enzyme that increases as we age, and as a result, is the primary cause of age-related decline of Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD) through direct consumption.

From what I can tell, the most easily (industry) accessible molecules seem to be:
Apigenin
Luteolinidin
Luteolin
Kuromanin
Quercetin

When NR/NMN was first released as a direct oral supplement, it didn't seem to translate well over into humans from mice studies and simply got broken down or only increased liver levels of NAD.

I think by combining multiple different CD38 inhibitors you have an increased chance of human bioavailability and effectivness through different molecular binding sites.

Of course, this is just speculation and I am talking out my ass, if you think it isn't worth it you are probably right.

I would agree on the NR thing with the increase in the liver, but NMN has shown to increase systemic levels of NAD+. NMN has its own transporter in the small intestine that NR can't use, so it increases plasma levels better. Then it can convert to NR where needed, and then back to NMN. I wouldn't equate NR and NMN directly because of that. That being said, I do think CD38 inhibition can add to that effect. I would personally suggest combining NMN with quercetin to start. Obviously it will be very difficult for you to know for sure if it is increasing NAD+ inside cells, but you should certainly feel the effects.
