What is the role of pyroglutamic acid in the alcohol defense formula?

One of the problems that I have developed over time when I drink alcohol is that it increases the frequency and ease of developing "blackouts", added to that the rebound effect of anxiety has also increased over time. When I was younger, I didn't get those blackout effects.
I wonder if pyroglumatic acid is included in the formula to prevent the harmful effects of alcohol on the NMDA receptor. As I know alcohol works by activating GABA receptors and by blocking NMDA receptors, it is the combination of both that produces the rebound anxiety and the blackouts. The main problem with alcohol for me right now are the blackouts. I also drink less amount and less frequently than when I was young but as you can know it is difficult to not drink when you socialize

after quitting memantine this weekend I felt a blackout less pronounced this time. I only took NAC, 1000 mg Piracetam and 20 mg 1% Huperzine before going out.
Wonder this time if Huperzine, Piracetam or NAC or just the aging process is behind this blackout effect. Perhaps Huperzine since it has some NMDA antagonist properties, but it is highly neuroprotectant and reduces oxidative stress. Also I can take 50 mg sublingual without feeling side effects.... (So I have a damaged Ach system or I carry some mutations that makes me produce less ACH)
Have you experimented with pregnanolone? I remember reading that in some people it eliminated the negative effects from smoking (not nicotine).
Another hypothesis I hold on is that with aging NMDA receptors starts to function in a diminished way, so it is naturally that at 32 I'm feeling blackouts, but still, want to know if there is a way to prevent it.
Noopept is so interesting because every time I have taken it, it increases a lot the resistance to alcohol. Well but basically I just want to enjoy some drinks by reducing the most the negative effects of it.

Huperzine-A does bind to the NMDA receptor.

I did some limited testing with it years ago, but I stopped. I was getting some weird side effects like emotional fluctuations. I will have to circle back with it to do some more testing.

I don't think it is reasonable to assume that we just have to deal with blackouts as we age. That's not really a "normal" thing to have happen, especially at 32. How much alcohol are you drinking, and how often?
