Has taking nootropics changed the way you perceive reality?

Has your nootropic use changed the way you perceive or react to reality? Has it changed your understanding of reality as a concept as well?

For example, I’ve noticed that I have been a lot more confident in general after taking Phenibut or phenylethylamine, even after I stopped taking it. I used to be insecure and think that people were making fun of me. I guess after trying those nootropics, I realized that there was more ways to perceive the current moment than what I was used to. So, instead of thinking that people bullied me I started thinking that they really like me. I realized that neither is more true than the other because I have no idea what anybody is actually thinking. So why not choose one thats more positive? After adopting that mindset on and off nootropics, more people began to like me and my charm amplified. It’s to the point where I’m secure and I don’t care about other people’s thoughts.

My point is that my use of nootropics have made me consider point of views that I wouldn’t have before and understand all of the little ways one can actually perceive reality.

Thanks for the answer, and your honesty!

Unfortunately I'm in a position where I'm unable to use most psychedelics, despite having a great need for mind-opening experiences or perhaps, compounds that lead to it. About as far as I got into the "psychedelic" experience, was a few times with Cannabis edibles (before that, I had never used cannabis in any form, at all.) And those experiences were more negative and counter-productive than anything else. But, that was my first foray into the class of drugs we call "hallucinogens" and I was sorely disappointed.

If that's a "mild version" of what the others in that nebulous class are like, perhaps it may not be for me. Even with small doses of the edibles, I got terrible anxiety each time, it made my chronic headache worse, besides I was just sedated and unable to hold onto a single thought process without falling off-track. The experiences were "interesting" but not useful; they yielded no new insight, at all, for me.

You might say I'm in the business of finding a compound which may "force" me to see things in new ways, but the range of options is drastically limited because I'm very prone to anxiety, I take an SSRI (and thus serotenergics can't really be used), and my headache/pain condition complicates things even more.

If you have any ideas, I'm still interested though

Cannabis edibles are always horrible experiences for me, unless the dose is really really low. I would not call that a hallucinogen, either. The cannabinoid system is a very interesting, but complex one. It's very easy to push it too far in one direction and have a horrible time.

Being prone to anxiety and on an SSRI limits things a bit, at least from the MDMA/LSD/4-ACO-DMT side of things. However, I would suggesting trying 7,8-dihydroxyflavone, nigella sativa, and polygala. Those are very safe, and you would likely react well to them. Adding in a basic one like L-theanine can help, too. You don't always need a single profound event to change your perspective. Small incremental shifts can be just as useful.
