Absorption of calcium and magnesium taken simultaneously?

I know that calcium and magnesium compete for absorption and that it's best to spread them out.
However, it's still super convenient to put a bunch of magnesium in my dairy-based smoothie. So I consume magnesium and calcium together in every sip. The amount of magnesium in my smoothies is roughly equal to the amount of calcium.
Is it reasonable to assume that I absorb approx half of the magnesium that I would if I took without calcium?

Awesome, thanks for the insight! Unfortunately I'm allergic to mag glycinate (hives 馃槶), so I normally use a combo of mag taurate and citrate.
Do you know if taurate and citrate are chelated and therefore OK to consume with calcium? A quick Google search didn't provide an answer.

Citrate is a salt. So that dissociates in your stomach anyway, then the magnesium absorbs through the ion channels. It would not absorb the same way as glycinate. Magnesium taurate is a chelate, though. So that would absorb like glycinate.
