Absorption of calcium and magnesium taken simultaneously?

I know that calcium and magnesium compete for absorption and that it's best to spread them out.
However, it's still super convenient to put a bunch of magnesium in my dairy-based smoothie. So I consume magnesium and calcium together in every sip. The amount of magnesium in my smoothies is roughly equal to the amount of calcium.
Is it reasonable to assume that I absorb approx half of the magnesium that I would if I took without calcium?

Are there any studies on magnesium transport across the BBB for the different chelate forms, Micromag and Magtein?
I tried finding threonic acid alone but couldn't find a source except for alibaba(which I guess for something simple? as threonic acid shouldn't require third party testing?), have you got any suggestions?

Everything requires 3rd party testing. Threonic acid is not common on its own. It's mostly used as an intermediate, which is why you don't see it. I am considering offering it as a standalone product, though.
I am not aware of a study directly comparing relative BBB transport between threonate and glycinate, but I see no reason why they would be different. Both threonic acid and glycine pass the BBB just fine, as does elemental magnesium.
