Absorption of calcium and magnesium taken simultaneously?

I know that calcium and magnesium compete for absorption and that it's best to spread them out.
However, it's still super convenient to put a bunch of magnesium in my dairy-based smoothie. So I consume magnesium and calcium together in every sip. The amount of magnesium in my smoothies is roughly equal to the amount of calcium.
Is it reasonable to assume that I absorb approx half of the magnesium that I would if I took without calcium?

This is very helpful, thanks. Can you recommend any other chelates that should work well with dairy?

L-threonate is the most common one other people use. I have started going a different route, though. I've been using our Micromag instead. That envelops a magnesium oxide particle in a phospholipid layer encased by a sucrester, which allows for active transport of the magnesium across cell membranes. It has a much higher amount of elemental magnesium per mg than chelated forms.
