Are nootropics illegal in the UK yet?

I've heard about a blanket ban on nootropics in the UK, but I don't know much about it. Is this ban already in place?

Not law yet - still going through parliament:

I don't know how the exemption list/system is operating in practice in ireland - this bill is based on the irish act, and there any psychoactive substance (other than foods, alcohol, medicine) must be sanctioned by the Minister for Health - but it seems highly unlikely to me that the government and their medical officers would ever consider placing on this list, and therefore explicitly legalising, any of the substances talked about here, except maybe theanine, 5htp etc. Tianeptine wont stand a chance.
The question was - are they illegal yet? No, not yet, but will be illegal, strictly speaking, in a few months time most likely. The real question probably is - how vigorously will the authorities/customs enforce this law? I think they'll see nootropics as fair game, because there is nobody over here putting the positive case.

I thought the Queen already confirmed it? Or did she just express support for it to go to vote?
I really do think they will see Nootropics as fair game, and go after them. They do not put distinctions on things like we do. They see unapproved substances as a risk to public health, no matter how valid those claims are in reality. Making things illegal, until they explicitly legalize them, is a huge step backwards in freedom. I think it is one of the most horrible decisions that the UK government can make; not that I am surprised they made it.
