Are nootropics illegal in the UK yet?

I've heard about a blanket ban on nootropics in the UK, but I don't know much about it. Is this ban already in place?

The law is in place. However, it is up to the discretion of the UK government what they go after. The consensus from most people is that they don't care about nootropics, and are only going after recreational RCs. Knowing what I know about governments, that probably won't last long, though. Ask your average government official what they know about piracetam, semax, or pyritinol. Once someone gets the idea they are harmful, they have the legal authority to go after them. It's just a matter of if and when. I would put money on Phenibut and Tianeptine being the first to come under scrutiny.
