A Note Regarding Ceretropic's Caffeine/NALT
Original post in this thread

There's been a lot of recent activity here regarding Ceretropic's new ionically bonded Caffeine/NALT solution. Specifically, whether the claims made about this solution are, in fact legitimate. I'd like to make a few comments, and requests:
As someone who has dealt with startups in the past and the patents surrounding them, I can assure you that the patent system isn't the most fun experience. However, it's necessary to protect IP and new methodologies so that someone's hard work isn't stolen and reimplemented by someone else in a week (for profit). Without this, there's no incentive to invent anything new -- just wait for someone else to invent something and steal their idea.
As someone who is part of this community and is looking to potentially ingest this product (correction: just ingested, mine came in a couple hours ago) it seems reasonable to request secondary, unbiased verifications of the claims made my /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb. Just as /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb requested (and eventually coordinated) product testings for some of True Life Research's (TLR) products, the community has the right to request product testings for Ceretropic's new products. However, given the above, I…

I think a very large part of what concerned people was the initial wording regarding "ionic bonding", which I believe you mentioned has now been changed. Part of what worries me, though, is that there is a group of people requesting additional information, and a separate group of fanatics backing Ceretropic without being in any way informed on what's going on. This is evident by the recent surge of downvotes for my comments below, none of which were unjustified, unreasonable, or insensitive.
I firmly believe that as soon as we allow this place to turn into cult wars, it will lose all meaning and fall apart. This shouldn't be a Ceretropicans vs EvilDoubters war. It should be a place where people come to learn about nootropics and self-advancement, to better themself.

Are there fanatics, though? If so, I am not aware of them. I am certainly not encouraging that behavior. I keep hearing that I have rabid followers, but I don't see evidence of it. It's the first thing people jump on with me. Every comment I have made during this weird issue is immediately downvoted. Then every comment after it, even in other unrelated threads is downvoted. Now any time someone states they like one of our products, or agrees with something I say, they are labeled as cult-like followers. There are countless threads of people thanking NewMind or PowderCity for great service. Nobody calls them rabid followers. If someone mentions us, people flip out, and try and counter some perceived unfairness. We are the only vendor that does not advertise or promote. It's just people talking about us. If people can't talk about us, I am going to have to advertise. I would prefer to just grow organically. However, if people that like what we are doing are constantly called cult-like, then that is not going to go anywhere.
I purposely stay out of posts now, because I know people will say I am trying to advertise. I type up whole responses, then just close the window, all the time. I actually dread looking at my messages now, when I was excited before. I told myself I was not going to get on today, so that I could not get stressed. However, I know that everything is going to pile up if I don't. It's more stress than joy coming on here now. Granted I have been extra stressed the past few weeks, with my grandfather having a stroke, and now my girlfriend breaking her clavicle, plus countless other shit. I certainly could have handled this a lot better. But I should feel like talking about nootropics is a relief, not a chore. Constantly having to defend myself from petty stupid shit is just draining.
So I don't want "cult wars." I don't want any wars. I just want passionate and productive conversations about enhancing cognition. If that means I have to stay out of conversations, then so be it.
