Has memantine actually helped you?

Original post in this thread

Do you take memantine, and for what do you take it? Has it helped you?

I'm having a hard time titrating upwards from 10mg without getting brain fog and the feeling of detachment. Is 10mg sufficient to counter stimulant tolerance or do I have to go all the way up to 30mg?

Thanks.

I haven't had any negative interactions with memantine and nicotine, been taking nicotine every day whilst i've been on memantine for a while now. I might stop taking nicotine for a week or so to see what happens when I start it up again but i've not noticed anything bad. I hope I don't as I really like memantine and I also really like nicotine, would not want to give nicotine up particularly. Of course everyone is different and I seem to have strange reactions to a lot of things so who knows.

Keep in mind this is just my reaction to it. I have gotten a few messages from people saying they are fine with Memantine and Nicotine as well. I also have not tried to isolate the interaction any further, since the brain fog and mood issues have me messed up for days.

Are Increased Gaba Receptors By Chronic Caffeine Intake A Good Thing?

Nicotine up-regulates nicotinic ACh receptors, but also desensitizes them. It's more complex than just up/down-regulation. Acutely, caffeine lowers GABAergic neurotransmission. [Inhibitory effect of caffeine on GABA-ac

Replying to relbatnrut · You joke, but nicotine is so much more effective as a nootropic with MAOIs (at least for me).

Ohh I know. It just also makes it more addictive.
