Techniques for maintaining Caffeine effectiveness?

I've been cold turkey from caffeine for about 2 weeks now. I was ingesting around 800mg daily prior. This was just to feel normal too.
I felt a caffeine buzz today after just a cup of black tea and it feels amazing.
Do you have any techniques for maintaining caffeine effectiveness? Once every 2 days? Once a week? etc.
Thanks!

Damn its a powerful addictive drug. I have always justified my addiction because I like the taste of a good cup of coffee (/r/coffee quality coffee), I can't imagine taking caffeine pills with no effect and a horrible withdrawal.
This does bring to light the power and dangers of caffeine though. My coworker was shocked by the news of the kid that OD'd on it recently featured in the news. People trivialize it because its in so many of our daily go-to drinks. I digress...

My friend drinks decaff coffee for that reason. He loves the flavor, but cannot handle the caffeine anymore. You could do the same.
