Converting Adrafinil to Modafinil?

This is obviously conducted in the body already, so is there some chemical process to go about it outside the body, leaving only the active metabolite and eliminating Adrafinil's harsh affects on the liver?
It would certainly reduce costs and make it much easier to import if it could be done.

Now I'm thinking how easy it would be to buy up patents on a fluoroamphetamine derivative and run a smear campaign against vyvanse to reap massive profits... the problem is just the massive cost/time for approval from the damn FDA.

Yeah, the FDA approvals would be the barrier there.
