Noopept, alcohol, and hangovers

After reading about them for a while, I finally decided to give nootropics a try and see what all the fuss is about. I started fairly aggressively, ordering 5g of Noopept, 10 g of phenylpiracetam, and a bunch of L-theanine, all from LiftMode. So far I've only taken the Noopept and L-theanine, since I'm waiting for my choline to arrive before trying the phenyl.
I tried Noopept for the first time yesterday, taking 30 mg orally in water, but then another 30 mg sublingually about an hour later when I read that's a better method (which based on the literature is debatable). While I did feel my focus to be slightly enhanced, I am wary that that may be a placebo effect, and that the benefits of Noopept are said to be gradual and cumulative.
What I simply cannot chalk up to a placebo is the effect it had on me when I got bombed (or rather should have gotten bombed) last night. I drank eight beers and two generous glasses of Maker's Mark over the course of five hours while watching a couple movies and hanging out with my girlfriend. I'm no stranger to drinking for fun, and I know my limits. This was well beyond them, and yet I felt none of the fuzziness or lack of focus…

OK, thanks for the help.
I have my fingers crossed for you, because you seem like a nice person and i wish you luck, and because i would love to have a reliable place to purchase this chemical if it helps me.
