I find it interesting that among its possible side effects, depression and suicidal thoughts are listed. Really makes me want to research / read research on the mechanisms behind this (especially because these two side effects come with TONS of seemingly-unrelated drugs).
I also wonder what mechanism would cause the depression - do other NRIs give you those kinds of symptoms? I wonder if Strattera's memory-improving capabilities come from its NMDA antagonism too (though the only study I saw on that was in-vitro). Cholinergic agents (at least choline bitartrate / citrate) leave me depressed. Never had that kind of issue with nicotine, but that's because activation of some nACh receptors results in dopamine release.
Ever tried Wellbutrin? Memantine?

I get depressive symptoms on choline alone. I thinks it's caused by an imbalance of extracellular choline to intracellular ACh. This is why I find coluracetam to alleviate those symptoms, being a choline uptake enhancer. It's also why certain choline precursors can exacerbate the symptoms. Perhaps the balance of choline to ACh plays a larger role in depression than traditionally thought.
