Is modafinil tolerance reversible?

Original post in this thread

DelusionalVirtuoso · 9 points

I was wondering if anyone here has had experience with modafinil Torrance. Can it ever go back to the level that it was when you first took it, and if so, how long does it take?

I have only recently just started taking it, but I'm afraid I may have permenantly damaged my tolerance by binging on 800mg.

I hear Milk Thistle reduces tolerance, as it has to do with liver enzymes.

Ohh, that's actually a good idea. Perhaps not milk thistle specifically. However, maybe most of the noticeable tolerance is simply due to CYP450 enzyme induction. Returning the enzymes to normal levels might eliminate most of the perceived tolerance.

Modafinil Tolerance: Possible Modes of Action

I can 100% confirm that the CYP3A4 induction from modafinil is substantial. At least it is for me. If I take modafinil in the morning, then take a substance that is metabolized by CYP3A4 (i.e. kratom), then the effects a

Converting Adrafinil to Modafinil?

Replying to Spr33y · So then in theory supplementing adrafinil with milk thistle isn't necessary and/or helpful?

Well I am not sold on milk thistle. It has not been shown to be effective in clinical trials. N-acetylcysteine on the other hand is a great liver supplement. It really helps scavenge ROS. I think adding in NAC to your r

That was our thought as well. It will bypass first pass metabolism, so it will definitely lessen the liver enzyme activity. However, it will still go through second pass metabolism. The elevated liver activity seen in a

Tongkat Ali feels like modafinil to me (question of timing)

I have thought about making a mixture that is the most vile tasting thing out there. I could do it easily. The base would be the 10% tongkat extract. Then you add some berberine for the nice bile flavor it gives. You add

Somebody (I think MisterWhyAreYouSoDumb) mentioned something about how NAC is superior to Milk Thistle for keeping the liver health

Replying to p155 · Thank for that explanation. But in the context of protecting the liver when taking Armodafinil...is there any benefit from either Milk thistle or NAC? If so which is better?

Adrafinil's effects on liver enzymes is small, and very similar to acetaminophen. NAC is the gold standard for protecting the liver from that sort of thing.
