Why isn't DXM a more popular nootropic?

Not in high doses, mind you, but I get a very "head-spacey clarity" and extreme mental alertness from doses 100-200mg. (Anything higher than 400 I've found dissociative)

Usually reserve it for times of high mental stress to avoid building up a tolerance.

Now now, at least he is asking. His premise may be flawed, but at least he is searching for answers. Until he starts outright rejecting evidence, I would hold off criticizing him.
