I could be because of the scale but based on just eyeing the chromatograms it seems like your extract is quite similar in the proportion of hericenes, but ill take your word for it since you are the man with the numbers. I saw your other comment about the in vitro neuron work you are doing. Its very exciting stuff and hopefully itll shine a light on the specifics of all of this. A while ago when i asked about this i was curious because i had read a bunch of reports about people with mental disorders, particularly schizophrenia, having success with Amyloban, but once they switched to a cheaper/ different brand, the effects sometimes went away. I just checked again and a surprising amount of people still had some benefits from certain brands like real mushrooms, although some symptoms seemed to come back. Like you highlighted, it has ALMOST as much hericenones/ hericenes as your 1:1 thats just plant material, which is kind of nuts. Unfortunately none of them really mentioned switching to yours so its harder to get a head to head estimate of whats driving the effects. I think one guy had a negative reaction with presumably you 1:1 and another one had a positive reaction to your 8:1. From what i have gathered, it seems like it could be due to the hericenone F-H content, that seems to be quite high, it could be due to some of the bioactives that have not been measured like the heri…

Well that's not our extract. It's our 1:1 powder. However, our 1:1 is more balanced between hericenes and hericenones compared to Amyloban, where they are hericenone heavy. Our 1:1 is 44% hericenes to 55% hericenones. Amyloban is 25% hericenes to 75% hericenones. Both our products have hericenone C as the highest peak, but we have hericene A/B as the second, where theirs is hericenone F. We only have one batch of Amyloban, too. It's hard to say how representative these ratios are for them.

It's really hard to say without more control and testing in place. We do look for and measure hericerins as well. They are just never in measurable amounts in any samples. All the papers and studies out there showing their presence uses QToF mass specs, and are seeing things in the parts per billion range. They are not at levels that would be biologically relevant... at least not in any sample that we have tested so far, and we have tested a lot.
Is the 50 mg extract going to be the successor of the 8:1? I know you guys have been working on moving away from the ratio extracts.
Ohh no! That's much too potent and expensive for that. We are still finalizing what the standardization will be for the successor to the 8:1, but it will not be that high. Nobody would be able to afford it.
I think you have mentioned those erinacine experiences before, its the ones where you got some vision related effects, right? Itll be very interesting to see some more pharmacological data on it, it already has some very interesting nerve and brain related effects.
Yeah, I have talked about it a few times. It was a unique color brightening/saturation effect that was pretty cool, with a mood lift.
The ergosterol content would suggest that it may be an extract of a bunch of lower quality fruiting body, if we do assume that its recombined with some of the biomass it was extracted from. If im understanding you correctly. I think that makes sense because Amyloban claims in their patent that they pretty much extract the ethanol soluble fraction of lions mane, and then further separate that fraction into the hydrophilic, which is not used, and hydrophobic fraction, which is used, would make sense for ergosterol to be in the hydrophobic fraction, since its a sterol, but since there is not a lot, it could be due to them using low quality fruiting body. Unless there is some other reason for the ergosterol being low, maybe its a variety of lions mane that further metabolises most of its ergosterol into another compound. Who knows.
I think it is more likely their extraction method is just not bringing it over. I have not seen any samples of raw lion's mane that had good amounts of hericenes/hericenones that didn't also have ergosterol. This means they have to just be losing it in the extraction process.
Its very reassuring to know that your raw material beats most extracts lol. Thats more than understandable and i appreciate you just telling me that you cant say more right now, im very much looking forward to the changes. Yeah, this is why standardization to bioactives is a must. You can make things worse by extraction if you are not careful. It's also why we have been trying to get native concentrations up first. You can only concentrate what exists natively, so the higher the native, the better your extract will be in the end. If you have shit raws, it doesn't matter how good your extraction is.
