That would be super cool to get some more data on lions mane bioactives, however, one thing that i had not really thought that much about until recently is that probably a significant, if not most, of the bioactives like hericenones that have fatty acid side chains are mostly present in the body without the side chains. So it might be worth doing some kind of pretreatment on the lions mane to simulate in vivo oral ingestion, i think you even mentioned that you had some kind of machine to do that. And maybe some kind of microbial fermentation.
Here is a study that shows that hericenone C without its fatty acid side chain is a more potent neuroprotectant than hericenone C.

Well yeah, that happens all the time with the glycosides in plants. Our body usually cleaves off the glycoside groups before they go to work in the body. It's like the difference between baicalin and baicalein. The glycosides make the compound more water soluble, then the body rips it off and it absorbs better into cells as the aglycone. However, if you just go right to the aglycone, then you hurt water solubility, which affects oral bioavailability in many cases. We are absolutely looking into all these things, though.
