Uh-oh, Nootropics Depot is threatening to sue ConsumerLab.
ConsumerLab testing discovered that Nootropics Depot Shoden Ashwagandha doesn’t have the claimed amount of Withanolides in it. ConsumerLab isn’t backing down. Stay tuned…

Not surprised. This feels slightly validating, seeing as I always rep for Swanson as my main supplement company. And they always perform stellar with ConsumerLabs. Swanson will openly send their product to third-party testers freely if asked. They stand behind their stuff
Really most supplements and herbs do not need to cost $29, $39 or more a bottle, they’re very inexpensive and easy to source (most).

LOL, what are you talking about? Swanson failed.
They found 0.88mg using the USP method.
Our Shoden had the highest amount of withanolides of any sample (23.5mg withanolides via USP method), other than Herb Pharm Ashwagandha liquid (24mg withanolides via USP method).
Withanolides Per Capsule (Via USP Method)
* Herb Pharm Liquid: 24mg
* Nootropics Depot Shoden: 23.5mg
* Nature's Way: 21mg
* NOW Foods: 11.5mg
* Feel Good Organic Superfoods Ashwagandha Powder: 3.8mg
* Himalaya: 3mg
* Gaia: 2.8mg
* Youtheory: 2.5mg
* Organic India: 2mg
* Life Extension: 1.5mg
* Pure Encapsulations: 1.3mg
* Root2: 1.2mg
* Swanson: 0.88mg
So Swanson was literally the lowest of any tested. Our Shoden had 26.7 times as much as Swanson, and that is only looking at 8 of the withanolides. We ran that batch of Shoden through the lab today, and we found 72mg total withanolides per capsule. SEVENTY TWO MILLIGRAMS! We also have another 3rd party ISO lab getting us results on that batch tomorrow, so we have double confirmation.
