The subreddit nmn gave ND a D tier grade for their nmn product. I’ll try to link in the comments so you can read what it entails.

The supplement testing industry needs a laboratory accreditation body like the NELAC Institute for environmental labs.

It might go pretty far in keeping the FDA less interested in supplements.

I mean, that's what ISO/IEC 17025 is supposed to be. The issue is that the scope is limited, so people don't understand it. You can be ISO accredited for heavy metals testing, then go and test a ton of other things you are not capable of. Then there is the NIST proficiency program, which we are a part of. The issue there is that it's really assessing how close to the average of the labs you are, not absolute accuracy. There was a round of NIST testing where we were an outlier on the results. It was us and one other lab that got clearly different results than all the other labs, so it looked like we were wrong. However, we went back and did a battery of other testing, and it turns out we are 100% correct. It's all the other labs that are wrong, and we confirmed it with another partner lab of ours. So because all the other labs except one were wrong, it made us and the other correct lab look bad. I think they were all using an old compendial method that is outdated. We develop our own methods, and validate them ourselves using up-to-date standards, so we catch things other labs don't. Hell, the USP standard for milk thistle was UV-VIS for the longest time, which we have proven overstates the silymarin content by DOUBLE. Sometimes the industry standard is just wrong. A accreditation body for labs would have to take that into account in an objective way.

Just how bad is this industry?

Absolutely none? Probably zero from bigger brands. 50% off? Truthfully, I have not gone out and tested basic vitamins from brands. We have stuck to mostly botanicals and other small molecule organics. My assumption is th

⚠️ NEW PRODUCT ALERT | High Potency Milk Thistle Capsules | 200mg of Silymarins from Silybum marianum ⚠️

Replying to iwantmyownname · If you mean percentage of silymarins, you get roughly 40% silymarins in the regular milk thistle powders, (4:1) which comes out at 100mg~ for a 250mg dose This gives double that 2

Also, keep in mind that every single other milk thistle product we tested on the market failed for label claims. They were all universally lower in silymarins than they claimed. Ours is 100% validated at 200mg/capsule wi
