I recall watching more plates more dates where he was taking a big dose of alpha GPC and his TMAO test came back low.

LOL, that's funny. The data is far from settled on this whole thing.
Results: High-dose A-GPC and the choline chloride supplement yielded significantly higher choline levels compared to low-dose A-GPC and choline bitartate (F=31.31, p<0.01) though the effect of time was insignificant. TMAO levels were not significantly different between supplements (F=1.96. p=0.1361) or across time (F=0.0795, p=0.7795).
Conclusion: A-GPC increases serum choline similar to that seen with high-dose choline chloride ingestion without a concomitant increase in TMAO levels and therefore, may be a desirable option as a dietary supplement
This is a brand new study just published in February.
Based upon the data in this paper, it appears that lower doses of A-GPC are as effective at providing bio-available choline at higher doses of other choline salts. Additionally, it does not appear that A-GPC or choline salts impact the circulating levels of TMAO with either acute or chronic ingestion. Further research should be directed at determining the doses of A-GPC that are necessary to impact human performance and cognition.
No conflicts in that paper, and they measured actual TMAO levels in humans after taking alpha-GPC. This study design is more pertinent for what happens in humans in vivo.
