Edit: Check out MYASD's reply. Tl;dr is it's super shitty timing but their costs went up a lot so it sucks for everyone, no shadiness here.
I had my cart already picked out ahead of the sale (lol) and I just went in to add one more thing I forgot and noticed that a large number of items went up in price, some of them by a good bit too.
What they were answering

I recently learned about Claire W. Graves' model (also known as Spiral Dynamics) that essentially shows the different stages humans develop through, both on an individual level and on a societal level. According to that theory, if it is correct, we are in for a change in the next 15 years (as ballparked by some) as we shift from the current layer to the next - and when a shift happens it always gets worse before it gets better. When the old layer reaches its peak and stops working people regress further and dig their heels in, but it's kind of like a rubber band pulling back - eventually the tension is too much and it shoots forward into the next layer, which is then finally able to solve the problems created by the most recent layer. Every time I hear about shit like this I remind myself it's just another rubber band. Here's to hoping he was right. 馃槵

Something needs to change, that's for sure; lots, actually. I really hope it does, because the current path society is on doesn't seem good. I just hope that everyone can come together and help change things in a productive fashion. I hope it doesn't devolve into conflict. There was a poignant quote from Varys in Game of Thrones: "Chaos is a ladder." There is more truth to that than many people realize. People at the top benefit from times of chaos. They use it as a strategy to consolidate power and make moves. The average person never comes out ahead during these times. It's only those at the top. They also do it under the guise of helping the average person, but that's just a ruse they use to facilitate their consolidation. I have no doubt that if we devolve into more conflict, it will only result in more consolidation for a very few.
