Different batch of adrafinil capsules?

So I had been buying ND adrafinil powder until they ran out. So I bought a 30 capsule bottle, and all was well. I then bought another that arrived like a week ago. Well, the powder in the capsules smells completely different this time. It formally (both powder and caps) had a rubbery taste, quite distinctive. This bottle has almost no smell, and I for some reason am getting zero effects from it. Where before 450mg of adrafinil was perfect, ive tried a dose all the way up to 1200mg and still, nothing.. waited 5 days, tried 600mg also, no effects. For context, I would take adrafinil 3 days a week, on an alternating schedule. Any insight as to why this would be? ND depot has always had top notch quality and excellent product. Should I reach out to their customer support? Has anyone had a similar experience with ND adrafinil?

That's super interesting and it kinda explains why adrafinil from ND never worked for me. I've tried alot of ND products and hold you guys in very high regard when it comes to product quality but the ND adrafinil has never worked for me. Ever. I know adrafinil generally works for me because I used Olmifon back in the days before it got discontinued and that worked very well and I know modafinil works to. Have never found adrafinil that worked for me after the brand name discontinued though.
It kinda always bugged me a bit because i thought maybe there was a bad batch or something so I have tried it with significant time between purchases but always nothing. The way i knew it wasn't converting into modafinil other than straight up stimulant effect was the fact that modafinil makes your pee smell funny. I don't know how to describe it any other way but it is really distinct and also dose dependent. ND adrafinil, or adrafinil from any other source for that matter, never produced that even at the highest single dose i dared to go (800 mg). TBH i just gave up on it and found another solution. This sound like a plausible and really cool answer to why that was, I wonder if the original manufacturer was aware of this?

Yeah, it could very well be that the crystal structure of adrafinil we have is not one that your body can absorb well. Cephalon seemed to control for crystal structure when they made Olmifon, since I found references to it in their patents. They never released that data, though. Most pharma companies keep the crystal structure thing as a trade secret. This is why we have had to do all the work from scratch ourselves. I've literally been trying to solve this issue for almost 8 years. It's just a VERY complex thing that there is not a lot of open data on. Chemists don't know about it, since it is not a chemical property. It's more a materials science. The issue is that most materials scientists don't deal with pharmacokinetics. Any that do are likely working for a pharma company. Even then, using materials science to affect drug delivery is a relatively new field.

I think this is the missing link for people on why some brand name versions of certain drugs work better than generics. It has nothing to do with purity or anything chemically. It's a physical property of the crystal structure of the product itself. This is why chemistry can't find any difference. You need to look beyond chemistry to materials sciences for the answer. Luckily we have been working on it for a long time, and I swear I will solve the issue eventually! We are really close.
