I noticed y’all have a new ashwagandha and it looks exciting. For context, I’ve been taking ksm 66 for the better part of two years. It has phenomenal stress-reducing effects.
Would shoden be better? Has anybody on here given it a shot? There’s not a lot of info on this extract.

So BCM-95 specifies to 5-7% volatile oils per their GRAS application:

Are you saying all curcuminoid extracts will be like this?

Those oils come over when you are extracting from tumeric. You can make curcumin synthetically, which obviously doesn't have either of the two other curcuminoids or the oils. BCM-95's spec is actually "Present" for the oils.
It's in that self affirmed GRAS document you linked. That's via UV-VIS, too. That's a shitty way to quantify volatile oils. A better way is properly done headspace GC-FID or GC-MS methods. They do mention that 5-7%, but not in the spec. They group them all together in their actual specifications.
I will admit I have not personally tested BCM-95 in the lab. So I am going off their documents and what I know about tumeric/curcumin. I will buy some BCM-95 and we will do some proper methods on it to see if there is anything different that we can see.
