Exogenous Ketones are a nootropic, even without ketogenic diet

A ketogenic diet has nootropic effects on the brain. People have reported improved mental clarity while on the diet. It’s also good for warding off dementia and possibly improving other mental illnesses. see paper. As a bonus, it also has anti-cancer effects.
A ketogenic diet is a difficult commitment, at least for lazy people like me. But as it turns out, if you consume exogenous ketones, your cells will use them, even if you are not doing the ketogenic diet.
According to this paper “In vivo study of ketone supplementation (BHB) decreased tumor growth and prolonged subject survival independent of other dietary inclusions.”
And this paper says “oral exogenous ketone supplementation in inducing nutritional ketosis independent of dietary restriction.”
One guideline on doing this; one paper suggests that it’s best to consume your exogenous ketones before eating non-keto food. Otherwise, less of the ketones are absorbed.

How do you keep track of reddit threads/comments that may be relevant -- curated text file, spreadsheet, database? Asking because I find search mediocre at best (whether reddit or google search).

Honestly? From my memory. Then I search using Google by limiting to site:reddit.com, or I use Pushshift search. I also save some of my comments, both on RES and through Reddit's save feature. I should do a better job of keeping track of my comments, though. Reddit's search and functions only seem to get worse as time goes on.
