Has ND ever looked into Cissus Quadrangularis?

Curious as it seems this could be a herb with quite wide ranging benefits (not so much nootropic but potentially anti aging). Various studies have investigated the herb for bone regrowth/healing, joint pain, bone density, muscle growth, among other effects with mixed results. However, there seems to be a lack of understanding of what the mechanisms are and what should be standardized for in extracts, along with a lack of reputable supplement makers offering a product.
Just thought this could be in your wheelhouse! Any thoughts are appreciated.

"The main finding of the present work is that sedation caused by this medicinal herb does not depend on direct binding of alkaloids to GABAA receptors and chloride current modulation. Even though (S)-reticuline was found to act on α 3 β 2 γ 2 and α 5 β 2 γ 2 GABAA receptors, eventually, it may get transformed in the mammal body into more potent alkaloids which are then able to bind to GPCR receptors in the nanomolar range. We believe that mild sedative and antinociceptive properties of dry aerial parts of E. californica may be assigned to binding of morphine (and/or other alkaloids) at the μ-opioid receptors. Morphine may be generated in the rodent organism via successive biotransformation of (S)-reticuline present in aerial parts of E. californica. The presence of this alkaloid in aerial parts of California poppy was probably missed in previous studies since tis molecule probably coeluted with NMT under typical HPLC conditions [14]."
Basically theorized to be a non-addictive opiod with gaba action. Very interesting substance, but requires a large dosage to feel. As a consumer, I would be very curious to see isolated compounds of this plant, as they seem promising. If I were a business, I could see how an alternative to traditional opiods with no addictive potential would be desirable from a marketing standpoint. Also maybe a rival to th…

Yes, that does seem really cool!
