Cordyceps labeling/cordycepin content

Original post in this thread

Why cordyceps have cordycepin content labeled as .3% instead of 0.3% ? Its could be easily seen and interpreted as 3% instead of 0.3%, especially when dont look too carefully. It could easily mislead people.

And second question - why its only 0.3% even in 8-1 extract. For example competitor vendor extract show up 1.3% of cordycepin in 3rd party COA

We can put the 0 in front if it makes more sense. I don't think anyone was really thinking about it one way or another. The cordycepin content doesn't really matter, though. It's not what is leading to the effects. It's just a marker compound for cordyceps. We are working on identifying a better standardization for it, but that is still in the works. It's not the cordycepin that is making the effects better, though. That's for certain. We've been doing a lot of testing on that side of things. 3% or 0.3%, it doesn't really matter. I can get 98% cordycepin. It's not going to feel anything like the 10:1 does. Again, the science needs to catch up, just like with lion's mane, reishi, and the others. We use cordycepin content as a marker indicator, then use an HP-TLC fingerprint to ID the 10:1 from the 1:1 and other extracts. Till we solve the question as to what exactly is leading to the beneficial effects, we are not going to be able to set a proper standardization on it. I could spike it with pure cordycepin and make the number look really high. However, you won't feel a difference.
