Why take the 10:1 corcyceps extract?

Original post in this thread

Hello everyone!

I am taking the 10:1 because I was led to believe that I was getting more cordycepin that way.

But I stumbled upon a comment saying the following:

"There are no alcohol soluble compounds of interest in Turkey Tail or Cordyceps AFAIK. IMO it is way better and more efficient to do a 30 minute hot water extraction of the dried powdered / shredded mushrooms (boiling under pressure, like in a pressure cooker) and then just dry it without filtering anything out.

You will be left with the full spectrum of the mushrooms bio-actives in a bioavailable form, everything is in there including all alcohol solubles. A 1:1 extract"

Reply: "What about cordycepin and adenosine?"

And then reply: "Those are water-solubles"

So I did a quick google search, which led me to this:https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/product/documents/325/006/c3394pis.pdf

"This product is soluble in water (1 mg/ml). The solubility is routinely tested at 20 mg/ml (1 M NH4OH), forming a clear, colorless solution. "

So cordycepin is ind…

Wow, thanks for the detailed answer!

I will be looking forward to learning more as you do! I think Reishi, Cordyceps and Lion's Mane are fascinating, and I always love learning more about them.

The two products I am really looking forward as new products from ND are the new Lion's Mane and the new Bacopa :)

ALL the mushrooms are fascinating. White jelly is giving people effects we never expected. Some people are getting really strong nootropic effects from poria. Turkey tail is showing some insane immune effects, not that I can talk about them directly because of the FDA. However, there is good data out there. Maitake and shiitake are both giving interesting effects, too. We are working hard to connect the science to all of them. I am a bit frustrated at how things have played out with progress because of things outside our control, and I am a bit upset at myself for taking my foot off the gas. However, it is firmly back on the gas now. We got into mushrooms really early, and we never stopped researching and improving the lab and R&D side. I have let the public narrative go a bit because of other shit we have been dealing with, and I have had to watch countless competitors lie and defraud everyone for a while. However, that is coming to an end soon. Mushrooms are one of my primary focuses again; and no matter what happens, we will be releasing some groundbreaking things in that space soon. We need to push the mushroom space forward, because they are some of the most interesting things out there.

...and yes, the new bacopa is pretty sweet, too!
