Bacopa Monnieri - Standardised extracts (e.g Synapsa) and HPLC measurements

Hello,
I was wondering the following. Most studies on Bacopa use the Synapsa variant and state a dose of ~300mg with 50-55% bacosides.
Now, considering that that bacoside percentage is derived NOT through the accurate HPLC measurement but through UV-spectrophotometry, one can easily demonstrate that e.g Synapsa is, in fact, NOT 50-55% Bacosides but more like ~8% (for an example, see here).
Due to this, if one were to buy a product that claims 50% bacosides by HPLC, would it be reasonable to lower the bacopa recommended dosage by 5 times? So, instead of 300mg used in studies, the HPLC-measured variant would only be 60mg.
A second question I have is this: considering it's the same herb, how is it possible that some people have experienced problems with the non-Synapsa version of Bacopa? What could the Synapsa version have that the "generic" bacopa doesn't that could cause different reactions in the same person?

This is a real pain in the ass. The reports here are ours. We've had both SGS and Eurofins provide reports that stated the same values. Our manufacturer sends the lots off so they are sealed by the labs after testing, so the reports are ordered by them for us. I wouldn't have suspected that two reputable labs would have it wrong, yet here we are. Thanks for the all work you put in.

Super pain in the ass! Keep in mind your lot might be different. I can only comment on the lots we have personally tested. So there is a chance your lot was a higher %. I just have not personally seen one yet. I would hope Eurofins would be using a validated standard. Although we stopped using Eurofins because of some issues we had with results from them for different products. They keep buying up all the small labs, though. So the lab industry is consolidating under these large labs that suck to work with.
The Indian manufacturers were ADAMANT it was 50% for a while. It was only after a lot of work on our part that we finally convinced them things were off. At least their methods and data was really good. So they are doing proper testing. It's just the standard they were using was off.
