I am trying to make my first purchase with Nootropics Depot. As you get 10% off as a first purchaser I decided I would stock up - to the amount of about $390 USD. I get this email a few days later, about noon'ish:

Thanks for your order! We have received payment on your order, however, our fraud protection software has flagged the order due to a recent amount of fraud. Because this is your first large order with us, our fraud prevention requires another step of verification. Typically this verification is handled by getting a scan of your identification, credit card used (you may redact all but the last four digits), and a copy of a utility bill that verifies your billing address. Once we have this information, we will then be able to approve this purchase, and we will not need to verify future orders.
If we do not receive a response regarding the verification of your order by the end of the day, we will unfortunately have to cancel your order. Sorry for any inconvenience.
You may use this secure form to send us your proof of identification for this order:

Pulling yourself up by the bootstraps doesn't always work, and in some cases not sharing the difficulties you're facing will cause misjudgments to arise among peers that can have serious consequences if one continues suppressing efforts to make oneself understood. This is a very important tenet of interpersonal relationships, and given the supreme importance of the social aspect of the nootropics community, how communication, not stalwart independence, has fostered the kind of quality and integrity that ND represents and that has spread to other good vendors in the community, means that I think these kinds of social mores hold up as important parts of how business in this industry needs to be conducted.
People discuss ND all the time with respect and tons of people here like your company. In the future, I highly recommend you use that resource to ensure the situation is understood, so that new customers and old alike understand what may be going on that requires changes like the one that caused this crazy misunderstanding today.

I will consider posting more detailed updates on our respective subreddits. We do update our information pages on the site often, and our payment page discusses these extra verifications at the top. However, many people do not read them. I fear the same will go for the posts on the subreddits, but at least they will be there. I don't think it will avoid things like this, though. New customers will not read up on our situation before ordering, and many won't care either way. Just look at some comments here. "Fraud is the vendor's problem, not ours." Well, fraud is everyone's problem, and if the industry can't operate because of it, everyone loses. Thank you for the support, though. I really do appreciate all those that have supported us over the years.
