Hi /r/nootropics.
My name's Lincoln Cannon, and I'm CEO at Thrivous. Thrivous is a brand new nootropic vendor. Sales of our first product, Clarity, began less than a month ago. And we're excited to share it with you. Of course I don't have to ask for it here, but please know I welcome your questions and feedback, both positive and negative.
Like many of you, I've been using nootropics for years. Most of the time, I've purchased individual ingredients to facilitate experimentation, and to avoid the high prices and secret formulas of premade stacks.
Over the years, when friends have learned that I use nootropics, they've often asked for recommendations. I tend to be conservative in matters of health, particularly when making recommendations to others, so I would generally direct them to natural supplements with the best supporting research for nootropic effect.
Several months ago, inspired by all the nootropic bottles next to my sink, my wife and I had a conversation about the [sorry state of affairs among premade stacks](https://thrivous.com/blogs/views/97432769…

All of the information I have from test results available to me indicates that the active components of the ingredients are as advertised. Until this thread, I hadn't noted the discrepancies in the plant species and part on the label versus the CoA. We're now working to figure out the correct way to solve that problem (and not repeat it) as soon as possible.
You mentioned you think I may not have encountered someone as skeptical as you. Well, I'm formally educated in philosophy. I've spent many years interacting with highly skeptical persons, and I value skepticism myself (as a tool but certainly not as an ideology). One of the consequences of that is that I don't believe in the existence of knowledge beyond a shadow of a doubt. I doubt everything, to practical extents.
So I'm always willing to entertain the notion I'm wrong. And I'm always willing to work to correct myself where I learn that I'm wrong.
So let's discuss the worst case scenario. Let's say more in depth testing contradicts the test results I now have. What corrective measures in such a situation would you look for? What would you be comfortable being held to yourself? What would be right, in your estimation?

What I would do, and what I hope you would do, would be to immediately halt all sales once you know the product is not what you had claimed. Then I would contact all customers that had purchased from me, explain the situation, and let them know exactly what was not right with the product. Then I would refund them, and offer to reship them a new bottle once the issue was fixed. Then I would obviously immediately fire the company doing my production and testing, and start with a new company that is trusted in the supplement world. I would be directly involved in overseeing the sourcing, testing, and production procedures, so that I would fully understand the operation, and be absolutely sure no issues would happen in the future. Then, only once I had a completely iron clad sourcing, testing, and production system in place, would I relaunch the product. In my relaunch I would explain the situation, and show how the new process would make any mistakes like that impossible from happening in the future. Then potential customers would be able to have faith in the product, and trust that I had their best interest at heart.
If for some reason your testing does come back bad, I would need to see you doing those things to be comfortable endorsing the product at relaunch. That would make me absolutely sure you are taking it as seriously as I think it should be, and I would know that I am endorsing a product and company that has consumer's best interest as a top priority.
