It's interesting that ashwagandha reduces anxiety yet there was a thread a week or 2 ago where people were talking about it causing overactive thyroid function in some people. Usually one thinks of something that boosts the thyroid as increasing anxiety. I may be wrong on that. I don't know. It's just an interesting method of action how ashwagandha works. It seems a rather complicated supplement.

Stress actually causes hypothyroidism, meaning lowering thyroid function. Ashwagandha can increase T3 and T4 in people with low function, but actually lower it in people with high function. So it is more of a regulator. It also regulates cortisol/prolactin, and prevents lipid peroxidation.

KSM-66 and Sensoril Ashwagandha brands are extremely dishonest.

Replying to Megatron_McLargeHuge · NootropicsDepot sells both and supposedly has the most reliable lab testing of any consumer vendor. Have you looked at their versions?

We removed the withanolide claims years ago from those two products, because we found this out in our lab testing. Both Natreon and Ixoreal were not happy with us about it, but we called them out multiple times at Supply
