Nootropics Depot: Mushroom Extracts!

How is there not more discussion on these?

So I've been experimenting with nootropics for 3 years or so at least. Racetams, noopept, modafinil, Prl-8-53, rhodiola, ashwaghanda, etc. I realize that these may not all necessarily be nootropic - but for the sake of cognitive enhancement and personal evolution.

So far, I've gotten one 30g container of Red Reishi and Cordyceps. I'll give my description of each.

First, I tried Cordyceps as I had a good feeling about them. One 00 sized capsule full and 4,000UI of vitamin D3 started my day.

Wow! There is an absolutely notable not placebo boost in energy. Almost a high. Lasts maybe 4-6 hours. I start the day off at 7:30 or so with it and get off work around 3. Occasionally I'll redose at that point or once I get home if I feel like being more active.

Red Reishi, now this one, I thought, was less potent. The tangible effect upon my subjective conscious experience is less prominent. Rather than a bit of a rush of Cordyceps (rush really isn't the right word, but it's close), Reishi feels more airy.

I started off with a full cap, but last time I tried half a 00 with the other half as inositol. Great success! The effects were around…

What they were answering

I was definitley pumped about nootropicsdepot releasing these extracts. I bought some cordyceps and noticed a real difference too. I wouldn't say i felt a rush, but i definitley felt much more involved in reality, almost impatient to get things done. I'm only taking it on the days im not drinking coffee (and as coffee is bit of crutch for me, those days are few) because i read something on examine explaining it can lower testosterone production when combined with caffeine (while the opposite is true when it's not), which sort of sucks because i'd like to use it more. I was really hyped to try reishi too, i've read so much good stuff about it. But I eventually came across information about some of its anti androgenic properties which made me put it on my 'maybe in the future list' when longevity becomes more important to me.
Except for lion's mane (which i bought too, but am yet to try), i don't really know much about the others. I'd love to see a sort of sample pack though to give them a try. I'd also be interestedto hear misteryousodumb's personal thoughts on some of those other mushrooms, its hard to find good discussion about them.

Two mushroom sample packs are coming in a few weeks. You'll be able to try out the 4 common extracts (Lion's Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps, Maitake), or the 5 uncommon ones (Black Hoof, Chaga, White Jelly, Poria, Turkey Tail), or get both packs to try them all.

I've used the Lion's Mane the most. It's a great every day one that builds effects over time. The Cordyceps is a great acute boost one. I did a mix of all of them when I recently got the flu (I ran out of EpiCor, and stubbornly waited for our caps to be done.) I recovered from being sick a lot faster than normal, and the mix helped me keep working while I was sick. I am still getting a feel for how the less common extracts feel on their own, though.

I think we are going to be doing some very cool things with mushrooms! I still use most of the mushrooms, just not every day. Cordyceps is still my favorite, but white jelly is fantastic to cycle in for skin health. Obv

Right now I am cycling down to baseline, but my usual dosing is 1,000mg Lion's Mane, 500mg Cordyceps, and 1,000mg Reishi. The Lion's Mane seems to boost mood a bit acutely, and help memory over time. The Cordyceps gives
