Amidate. What does it mean when a noot has amidate?

I saw the new epitalon amidate is out...but what does the 'amidate' actually do? As I read it, amidate is for "Inducing general anesthesia"

Amidate is also a trade name for the drug etomidate, which is a short-acting intravenous anesthetic, hence your confusion.
