Tianeptine sulfate is so great.

I've never tried tianeptine before, but I bought the sulfate version to try out. I'm meant to be on 75mg of zoloft but I only take 50mg because 75 causes migraines. I am continously depressed, the zoloft helped my panic disorder and ocd but if anything made my depression worse. Everyday is just mood swings and wishing I could die.
But, today for the first time I took 40mg tianeptine sulfate with my zoloft. It's been about 6 hours since and I feel great, finally normal, happy and able to enjoy my girlfriends company instead of wanting her to leave me alone. I dunno if this will disappear in time but it is just so great to be happy for once.

I wouldn't expect the counterion to make much if any difference here, as the salt only affects dissolution and bioavailability. Once the drug is actually binding to receptors, this doesn't matter any more.

If you look at the plasma concentration curves, you will see a huge difference in peak plasma and AUC between the salts. The sodium salt will peak very fast, and fall very fast. Those fast changes can cause mood fluctuation issues. That could be partly to blame for the issues some people have. Since I cannot see the study posted, I can only speculate. However, that is what we have gleaned from people reporting to us. The smoother and less peaky effects of the sulfate salt seem to no have those mood swing issues as much.
